CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Our craniosacral system never lies - it reveals everything. It carries our whole life story in every detail - our emotional state, our deeper underlying personality, deeply embedded trauma - it is all held in the craniosacral system.

Introduction

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a hands-on healing technique that works with the energy forces in the body that create and maintain healthy body function.

It is born from the principles of Osteopathy and includes influential advances in neuroscience, human development, prenatal and perinatal psychology, and trauma resolution. BCST takes a whole-body approach to these fundamentals and works directly with the natural healing capacity of the body.

How It Works

We know our body can heal itself, we learned this as a child when our skinned knee scabbed over and the wound disappeared. Through a neutral, listening touch, a Craniosacral Therapist connects with the body to facilitate and amplify a higher functioning system of repair. This process assists the wisdom and intelligence innate in our bodies and opens a deeper mindful path toward healing.

The Cranio-Sacral System

The structures of the craniosacral system are the membranes surrounding and enclosing the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), the bones of the cranium and the sacrum, the cerebrospinal fluid and the fascia throughout the body. Tensions, restrictions or disturbances to the craniosacral system can arise from many different sources such as birth affects, physical accidents, surgical interventions, illnesses,

traumas and held emotions.

Safety

The beauty of Craniosacral Therapy is how gentle and safe it is. The simple and non-invasive quality of this treatment provides a supportive safe space that encourages a coherent regulated nervous system allowing the body to meet itself with deep and easy change. Supporting safety allows the brain to disengage from fight or flight mode into something slower and more reparative. When the body moves into a more balanced state it begins to function more optimally, allowing the rejuvenation pathways like sleep and digestion to work more efficiently.
